Finding a therapist who fits your needs and your budget is an important part of starting care. At Fircrest Behavioral Health, counseling rates and insurance coverage vary depending on the counselor you choose, as each provider manages their own practice.

We currently work with several insurance networks, including:

  • Kaiser Permanente

  • First Choice Health

  • Partners Direct

  • The Provider Network (TPN)

  • PacificSource

Because each counselor may be credentialed with different insurance plans, we recommend visiting the counselor’s profile page to confirm which insurance providers they accept.

If you have questions about coverage, payment options, or finding the right provider, our team is happy to help you get started.

Using Insurance for Counseling

If you have insurance, the first step is understanding your mental health benefits. You can verify your coverage in two ways:

  1. Contact your insurance company using the phone number or website listed on the back of your insurance card.

  2. Complete our get started form, and we can help determine whether we have an in-network provider available for your needs.

Please note that Fircrest Behavioral Health does not currently accept state health insurance plans.

When using insurance benefits, we handle the required billing with your insurance company. You are responsible for your copay, deductible, or any remaining balance at the time of your appointment.

Before beginning therapy, it may be helpful to confirm:

  • Whether your plan requires authorization for counseling

  • Your copay amount

  • Your deductible

  • Any limits on covered session

Please note that our providers are not paneled with every insurance company. To find out what insurance companies each counselor is able to accept, please refer to their individual pages.

Paying Without Insurance

You may also choose to pay directly for counseling using cash, check, credit/debit card, or HSA card. Since each provider is an independent contractor, cash rates vary by counselor.

Paying privately may provide benefits including:

  • More privacy, since your mental health diagnosis and treatment information are not submitted to an insurance company

  • More flexibility without insurance limitations on treatment

  • The ability to choose counseling based on your needs rather than insurance requirements

If you choose to pay with a credit or debit card, merchant service fees may apply. The typical processing fee is 3%.
