Jen Cieslewicz, B.S.
Counseling Intern
Jen will graduate with her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands in August 2022. She has completed all required academic classes and is now working on her clinical experience hours as a therapist intern. She is excited to join Fircrest Behavioral Health and use her work experience, life experience, education, and love of people to help others through the rough times in their lives.
After earning a BS in Sociology, and a Social Service Worker (SSW) license, Jen worked several years for the state of Utah’s Division of Child and Family Services. As an SSW, Jen gained broad experience working to help children, teens, and families navigate stressful and challenging life events. Jen also worked several years in the school system as a youth-in-custody mentor, substitute teacher, and special education teacher assistant.
Jen works with clients of all ages, including couples. Her approach is warm and compassionate. Jen strives to show unconditional positive regard and sincere empathy to her clients. She believes that everyone is of infinite worth regardless of their circumstances or mental health challenges.Jen utilizes techniques from therapeutic approaches such as person-centered, psychodynamic, and behavioral to assist her clients in navigating depression, anxiety, self-esteem, grief, life transitions, parenting, and other mental health challenges.
When she is not working, Jen enjoys spending time with her husband of 21 years and their two teenagers. She enjoys interior design, walking outdoors, and traveling with her family. Jen served as a missionary for her church in Brazil and still speaks a little Portuguese. And while Jen has also lived in Europe and across the United States, she believes Washington is the most beautiful.
